There's no reason to escalate the warpoints. The warpoints for damage was to address that AV gunners were usually the worst ISK/WP earners per battle because your warpoints were largely dependent upon killing enemies that can eat a magazine or more of your ammo and still not die. It wasn't there as "Ohhh you're getting deterrent points," nor was it a consolation prize for failing to kill the target. It was so that running AV could have as much value as running a slayer or logi fit, commiserate with the fact that an AV gunner in the right place could salvage an offense or defense against a damn HAV attack. I'm willing to bet that the AV damage thing is oversimplified and applies the same formula against every target without variable. THat's how I'd do it. Mostly because I'm incredibly lazy. Even when I'm busting my ass it's entirely so I can chill out for most of the day after I get the hard stuff done. AV
